a mom of two boys (ages 7 and 9), former speech-language pathologist, and the heart behind The Steady Start Doula.
Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, I worked as a speech-language pathologist. When my first son was born, I made the decision to stay home with him, a choice I’m grateful for, but one that came with challenges I didn’t expect. Looking back, I felt completely unprepared for newborn life. I didn’t know much about babies, I didn’t have much help, and I felt incredibly alone.
I was exhausted, overwhelmed, and flooded with conflicting advice, from friends, family, Google, and even professionals. Everyone seemed to have an opinion, and instead of feeling supported, I felt lost. It took a long time for me to find my footing again as a mom.
Over the years, I began seeking answers, not just for my children, but for myself. I became a certified holistic sleep coach, certified life coach, meditation teacher, and Reiki practitioner. I learned how to regulate my own nervous system, create a healthier home environment, make better food swaps, and finally take time for myself without guilt.
Along the way, I also found myself filling in gaps for my children, supporting learning, behavior, regulation, sleep, speech, and gross motor development. I often thought, If I had known how to support them from the very beginning, so many of these struggles could have been eased.
That realization changed everything.
I knew I wanted to bring all of my tools, education, and lived experience into one place, and help other moms feel more prepared, supported, and confident than I ever did in those early days.
That’s why I created The Steady Start Doula.
I know how to help you and your baby start off with a strong, nurturing foundation, one that supports sleep, development, regulation, bonding, and emotional well-being from the very beginning. For the past year, I’ve worked closely with families as a mother’s helper, supporting babies and parents during both daytime and nighttime care, and it has brought me so much joy and clarity. This work feels deeply aligned with who I am and what I’m meant to do.
Hi, I’m Kasey Gregory -
The Heart Behind The Steady Start Doula
I created this practice with one intention in mind: to offer calm, grounded, and compassionate support during one of the most transformative seasons of life.
The postpartum period isn’t meant to be navigated alone, yet so many families are sent home feeling unsure, exhausted, and overwhelmed. I believe every family deserves a steady presence. Someone who listens, reassures, and gently guides without judgment.
A steady start isn’t about doing everything “right” or striving for perfection. It’s about feeling supported, confident, and cared for as you learn your baby, and yourself, in this new role.
With a nurturing and educational approach, I support families through newborn care, feeding, sleep, emotional adjustments, and the day-to-day rhythms of postpartum life. My goal is to help you feel grounded and truly held during these early weeks at home.
You don’t need to have it all figured out. I’m here to walk alongside you as you find your footing, one steady step at a time.
I believe the postpartum period is meant to be slow, supported, and deeply nurturing, for both parents and baby. This early season is not just about recovery or survival; it’s a powerful window for bonding, development, and laying a strong foundation for your baby’s nervous system, brain, and overall well-being.
My approach is centered on helping families create a steady start, one where you feel grounded, cared for, and confident as you transition into life with a newborn.
I offer gentle, in-home postpartum and newborn support that meets you exactly where you are. There is no pressure to “do it all,” follow a rigid schedule, or constantly question yourself. Instead, I focus on listening, observing, and supporting what feels right for your baby and your family.
With my background in child development and years of holistic training, I guide parents in simple, meaningful ways to support their baby from the very beginning. This includes:
Brain-boosting activities that support early development
Gentle positioning and movement to help prevent plagiocephaly
Tummy time support that feels doable and effective
Age-appropriate interaction, play, and bonding
Guidance on meeting developmental milestones with confidence
Education on what to do with your newborn so you don’t feel unsure or overwhelmed
I combine this practical newborn care with emotional and holistic support for parents. That might look like hands-on help with feeding and soothing, reassurance during a hard moment, or quiet encouragement as you learn to trust your instincts. Sometimes it’s holding space so you can rest, shower, or simply take a breath.
Above all, I strive to be a calming, steady presence in your home, someone who reminds you that you’re trusting your instincts and responding with care, that your feelings are valid, and that you don’t have to navigate this season alone.
A steady start isn’t about perfection. It’s about creating safety, connection, and confidence, so both you and your baby can settle into your new rhythm together.
My Approach
My Background & Training
I began my professional career as a speech-language pathologist working with adults, but I realized how valuable this education would be in supporting my own children’s communication, development, and early learning. When my first son was born, I chose to stay home with him, and two years later, our second son joined our family.
Those early years at home were filled with the joys and challenges of parenthood, learning through trial and error, navigating newborn sleep, milestones, and regulation, and figuring out how to support two very different children. Over time, I became passionate about helping other families feel supported and confident during this transformative season.
Professionally, I’ve spent the past eight years as a sleep consultant, guiding families through infant sleep and child sleep with a gentle and co-regulation approach. I am also certified through the DNT Network in postpartum and newborn care, and I’ve expanded my work to include holistic support as a certified life coach for moms, meditation teacher, and Reiki practitioner.
Today, I bring all of these experiences together through The Steady Start Doula, blending developmental knowledge, newborn care expertise, and nurturing postpartum support to help families feel grounded, confident, and supported from the very beginning.
